Dr Simon Jowitt

Consultant Haematologist

Dr Simon Jowitt graduated from the University of London Westminster Hospital in 1984 and for a further three years undertook his basic medical training. He commenced specialist training in haematology in 1988 within the North West Deanery, the training rotation being based, within the teaching hospitals of Greater Manchester.

Dr Jowitt undertook a reseach project during his training and was awarded an M.D in 1996. His first consultant post was at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport (1995-2006) and for professional reasons and career development, he moved to a consultant post at Salford Royal Hospital in 2006. His interests within haematology are wide and encompass general, non-malignant diseases, including coagulation disorders in addition to haemtological oncology.

Dr Jowitt’s clinical interests include, general haematology, haemato-oncology, including lymphoma, multiple myeloma, chronic leukemias, myelodysplasia and myeloproliferative disorders, disorders coagulation including thrombosis and anticoagulant therapy and anaemia/red cell disorders and other cytopenias.

Dr Jowitt is a member of the British Society of Haematology, the Royal College of Pathologists and the British Medical Association.
